Leading Colleges Information
Leading Colleges creates a meaningful lens for school and independent counselors to identify student-centered colleges.
Founded in 2023, Leading Colleges identifies colleges that uniquely focus on student success. While each member institution offers its own set of strengths and opportunities, the complete list will provide an overview of the nation’s best educational opportunities for students from a range of interests and disciplines.
Educational institutions are selected for membership within Leading Colleges based on the following qualities:
- Transparent, ethical, and fair recruiting practices
- A measured focus on student retention
- Student outcomes demonstrating the value of a college degree
- Attention to social justice and their role as an agent of change
In addition to the membership organization, each year, Leading Colleges recognizes colleges and universities that are exceptionally student-centric across four awards categories:
- Recruitment
- Retention
- Outcomes
- Social Justice
Nominations for the 2024 Leading Colleges Awards will open on January 1 and will be accepted from school counselors, independent educational consultants, community-based organizations, or staff and faculty from colleges and universities.
